From Material Control to Product Release

Orthopedic implant production involves a sequence of manufacturing and inspection activities. The stages below summarize our workflow; the route for each product determines which operations and checks apply.

Incoming Material Control

Incoming materials and components are reviewed against material grade, size and form, supplier identity, purchase order and batch number. These checks support the acceptance and identification of materials before they enter production.

Material identification and supporting documentation are maintained through material certificate, lot number, supplier documentation, applicable specifications and quantity received.

Production Planning

Production planning brings together product specifications, manufacturing instructions, required operations, and inspection stages.

Our teams use these requirements to organize manufacturing activities and identify the checks and records needed throughout the production route.

Manufacturing and Finishing

Implants, instruments, and system components are manufactured using the processes specified for the relevant product.

Finishing operations follow the requirements of the approved manufacturing route. Production and inspection personnel work to the specified dimensional, surface, and other product characteristics, rather than applying one set of requirements across the entire portfolio.

Cleaning and Handling

Where required by the manufacturing route, products undergo cleaning and handling activities according to product-specific instructions.

These requirements guide how products are handled before subsequent inspection or packaging stages. Information about a particular product’s supplied condition and packaging can be discussed with our team.

Inspection and Traceability

Products are checked at designated production stages using the inspection methods identified in the relevant quality plan. Checks may include dimensional measurement, visual inspection, and other specified examinations.

Our traceability records link Batch Identifier with Verified Material, Production, and Inspection Records. This supports review of the manufacturing history within the documented scope of our quality system.

Final Verification and Authorized Release

Final verification includes review of the required production and inspection records before product release.

Products are made available for supply following the authorized release process. Nonconforming products are handled through our established nonconformance-control procedures.
